Hi There! My name is Kim and I created The Graphite Cupcake as an art journal and place to park the random thoughts bouncing around in my head. It’s a place where everyone from all walks of life can come together and enjoy the ups and downs of leading a creative life. There will be daily artwork and the occasional art product review.
I usually post on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So grab a cup of tea, kick off your shoes and use this time to relax a little. Maybe pretend to be working on those reports or that load of laundry that should have been done yesterday. What’s life without a little bit of whimsy?
By now, you’re probably wondering why I called this site The Graphite Cupcake. I am a little bit (OK maybe more than just a little bit) obsessed with baked goods. Cookies, cupcakes, and the occasional scone are palm-sized bundles of happiness. Unless you are gluten-intolerant like I am. If you are, then you are bound to draw them a lot more than you eat them. Except for pancakes. They are always worth the stomach ache. Always.
I now have a lot of sketches of pastries. But hey, at least it resulted in quite a few filled sketchbook pages!
